The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is required at many institutions for advanced study in business and management, including the MBA. Created under the direction of the non-profit Graduate Management Admission Council[1] , the standardized exam measures verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills with a top possible score of 800.
Typical costs:
Official test preparation guides[3] , available in formats including hard-copy books and mobile apps, cost about $5-$210, depending on the products and sample tests offered.
A variety of GMAT practice books and software programs are available for about $15-$63 through independent companies including The Princeton Review[4] , Kaplan[5] and 800score.com[6] .
Free test preparation materials[7] are included through an online registration.
Scores will be sent to up to five schools listed on the application.

Private tutoring options are available from several independent companies including The Princeton Review[8] and Kaplan[9] for about $570-$5,400, depending on the amount of hours and skill level of instructor chosen. Each company maintains a list of tutors by zip code.
Classroom courses, offered by companies including Kaplan[10] , cost about $475-$1,550 depending on location and online or in-class options.
Additional score reports[11] are $28 each. Rescheduling an exam costs $50.
Discounts:
Fee waivers[12] are offered through the GMAC directly to schools. Each university independently chooses which students will receive the financial aid. To determine eligibility contact the individual school.
